Coffee is one of my favorite beverages. Besides the energy boost it gives me, I genuinely enjoy the drink itself, and it has become something that I look forward to every morning [and usually afternoon].
I am writing this while enjoying my fourth cup of coffee for the day. That being said, I am fully aware that the third and fourth (maybe even second) cups are not the best thing I could do for myself, but I am not writing this to tell you to do as I do. Rather, I am just here to let you know that the habit that you may feel you may be stuck on may have some health benefits! Besides the delicious taste, here is an interesting list I found of the health benefits of coffee:
Coffee…
Can improve your energy levels and make you smarter
Can help you burn fat
Can drastically improve your physical performance
Contains essential nutrients
May lower your risk of Type 2 Diabetes
May protect you From Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia
May lower your risk of Parkinson’s
May protect your liver
Can fight depression and make you happier
May lower risk of certain types of cancer
Doesn’t cause heart disease and may lower stroke risk
May help you live longer
The biggest source of antioxidants in the Western diet
So, was this blog post my sorry attempt to make myself feel better about this fourth cup of coffee? Maybe, but I hope you learned something anyways!
